California needed the rain this year, and our gardens are flourishing because if it, yet the rain has also created a great breeding environment for gophers, moles, ground squirrels and other pests. Food for these creatures is plentiful so their populations are growing! Recently these critters have all kicked out their young, creating an explosion of activity around the East Bay! You may have noticed activity in your yard you have never seen before, or you may be experiencing mush more activity that average, all of this can be accounted to the breeding season of these moles, gophers and ground squirrels.
These critters can be very harmful to your landscape, eating or breaking the roots of your plants! If you are native mounds or holes in your landscape you’ll want to have them taken care of quickly.
